Feeling the Urge to Foster?
Mitten Mutts operates out of the Bay City and Saginaw area. Occassionally, we will partner with foster homes outside of that area, but it is rare. If you wish to be considered to foster, fill out our Foster Application.

Once you fill out the Foster Application (link above), our volunteers will check your references, review your application, and follow-up with you via email within a few days.

If your application seems like a good fit, we will schedule a home visit.

Prior to fostering your first dog, you will sign a Foster Contract.

You will then be assigned a foster coordinator who will help you with everything:
-
Finding a dog to foster
-
Making sure the dog is medically up-to-date
-
Navigating the adoption process
-
And so much more!

If your intent is to Foster-to-Adopt, please let us know as soon as possible.

Mitten Mutts Dog Rescue will provide all medication, food, and basic supplies. If need be, we can also provide a crate.

Our Promise to You and Your Foster Pup
We will cover costs for all veterinary care and we provide necessary supplies such as collars, toys, and monthly preventatives.

Once your pup is ready for adoption, we will post on Facebook and PetFinder, etc. to let the world know that your foster is ready to find their FURever home.

You will have access to Mitten Mutt Groupies (our volunteers, some of which include vetmed professionals) who will answer any questions, provide any help you may require, and screen potential adopters of your Mitten Mutt.
How Else Can You Volunteer?
Mitten Mutts Dog Rescue is a nonprofit run solely by volunteers so there is ALWAYS something to do or another way to help out!

Here are some ways you can volunteer with us if you don't want to foster (yet):

-
Making crafts or baked goods to sell at events to raise money for the dogs.
-
Manning tables at events to tell the public who we are!
-
Helping to transport dogs from shelters or to vet appointments.
-
We use vets in Bay City, Dundee, Fenton, and Saginaw.
-
-
Conducting home visits for fosters and adopters.

If you have any other ideas for ways you could help the dogs of Mitten Mutts, just let us know! We are open to suggestions!
